JOB PURPOSE
Our client is seeking an HVAC Commissioning Engineer to join their growing team. This role is ideally suited to candidates based in London or South London, bringing proven experience in HVAC commissioning within the water treatment and hygiene sector.
In this position, you’ll take responsibility for commissioning HVAC systems on a variety of commercial, industrial, and residential projects. Your work will ensure systems are correctly installed, thoroughly tested, and fully operational, all in line with client requirements, health & safety legislation, and recognised industry standards.
KEY RESPONSIBLITIES
Commission, test, and balance HVAC systems in line with design specifications and project requirements.
Perform initial system checks, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues on-site.
Set up and adjust HVAC system settings to achieve optimal performance and efficiency.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth coordination during installation and commissioning stages.
Conduct air and water balancing, adjusting dampers, valves, and air handling units to achieve desired performance.
Ensure all testing and commissioning activities comply with relevant standards, codes, and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
Proven experience as an HVAC Commissioning Engineer
Solid understanding of HVAC systems, including chilled water, heating, ventilation, and ASHP/CHP systems.
Relevant qualifications such as CSA, NVQ Level 3 in HVAC, City & Guilds, or equivalent.
Knowledge of industry standards, such as BSRIA, CIBSE, and regulations.
Strong technical problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Full UK driving license and ability to travel to various sites as required.
Health and safety awareness with an ability to adhere to all safe working practices.
Familiarity with HVAC commissioning tools and software (such as Trend, BMS systems, etc.) is desirable.
SALARY/BENEFITS
Generous Salary of £45,000-£55,000 Doe
40 hour working week
