Here at Project Start we like to make our consultants feel at home within their working environment, and of course we want clients & candidates to build a successful relationship with our experienced Recruitment Consultants.
Everyone say hello to Harry Waller, one of our Senior Recruitment Consultants at Project Start who specialises in the Technical Engineering and Industrial sector.
Let’s get to know Harry from the very beginning as if this was a first date,
- Why did you choose the recruitment industry as a career?
The recruitment industry is one that’s certainly growing, there is great career progression within this line of work and potentially you can earn good money.
- What do you do?
So, in my day-to-day job I head up the engineering desk, and I over see a couple of people within the business with support when needed. As well as supporting colleagues I support clients and candidates whenever needed, register those candidates & supply CV’s, really it’s just the general sort of recruitment process.
- What motivates you?
Money Motivates me, progression also motivates me – I want to be the best I can within my career and get to the highest position I possibly can get too.
- What is the most exciting part of your job?
Making a placement, you work hard to discover the right candidates and send the CV’s over – when you make that placement it’s such a rewarding feeling.
- What do you think sets Project Start apart form its competitors?
Project Start are different from their competitors, I believe that they very much look after the whole process, look after both candidates as well as clients, they have a great structure in place, they are adaptable to surrounding environments such as the pandemic situation – during such uncertain times Project Start Recruitment always put their clients needs first.
- What was your first paying job?
Working at Marshall Bakery – It is a local one.
- Who inspires you?
My mum and dad – they have really done well for themselves, got successful careers and I would love to achieve the same.
- What is the best place you have travelled too?
Ibiza, simple.
- What animal would you consider your spirt animal?
Lion, a lion is hungry so essentially I’m hungry to succeed (no pun intended there Harry).
- What is your favourite food?
Probably a steak, I do love a good steak, medium rare though.
- Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies?
I don’t have any hidden talents, but hobbies, I play football – normally play 11 aside on a Sunday, I play for my local football team also I play golf, and just to let everyone know I was the captain for my golf and football teams – being a leader is my talent.
- What’s your biggest fear?
Snakes.
13. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I did want to be a chef, I went for my work experience there got a migraine for my first day and it put me off wanting to peruse my culinary career.
Good job you have landed a job here at Project start then Harry…
- How would your friends describe you?
Funny, sensitive and out-going.
- What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?
Phone, Friends/girlfriend, music – who needs food when you can make food from supplies already on the island… there is plenty of food out there.
