This role is perfect for a dynamic individual with a deep understanding of the aerospace supply chain and who thrives on driving supplier relationships and orchestrating seamless purchasing processes.

Position Overview:

As a Buyer, your primary responsibility will be to establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, particularly focusing on raw materials and surface treatments. You will play a crucial role in ensuring a competitive and high-performing supply chain to support the company's global aerospace and defense clientele.

Key Responsibilities:

Supplier Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
  • Ensure alignment and clear communication to enhance supply chain performance.

Purchasing Responsibilities:

  • Purchase raw materials, tooling, sundries, parts, and subcontracted processes.
  • Handle ad-hoc production requirements and other purchasing needs as directed.

Compliance and Costing:

  • Ensure all purchasing activities comply with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Obtain costs and lead times to support customer quotes.

Supply Chain and ERP Management:

  • Maintain current supplier delivery dates in the ERP system.
  • Participate in supplier approval and management activities, including identifying and communicating with potential suppliers, visiting suppliers, and addressing performance issues.

Additional Duties:

  • Perform any other duties or projects as directed by management.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Supply Chain Interaction: Experience in supply chain management and performance evaluation.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Time Management: Effective time management capabilities.
  • Aerospace Industry Experience: Prior experience in the aerospace industry, particularly within a specific supply chain, is preferred.
  • Negotiation Skills: Experience in negotiating with suppliers.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: Dependent on experience (DOE).
  • Leave: 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.
