Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Gas Heating Engineer to carry out servicing and remedial repairs to gas-fired heating boilers and whole heating systems within both occupied and unoccupied properties. You will meet client requirements and expectations in accordance with detailed specifications, in a timely fashion, and in compliance with current gas legislation.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of main boiler manufacturer installation and servicing requirements.
  • Proficient in commissioning gas heating boilers and associated controls.
  • Demonstrate fault-finding/diagnostic skills and carry out necessary repairs.
  • Competent in draining down and re-filling heating systems to replace defective parts.
  • Ensure compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act.
  • Participate in ‘out-of-hours’ emergency call-out on a rota basis.
  • Perform other duties as reasonably requested.

Person Specification

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Possess practical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Work carefully, methodically, and safely.
  • Operate independently as much work is done in a lone environment.
  • Have good written and spoken communication skills.
  • Be a team player with strong customer care skills.
  • Hold a valid CSCS card.
  • Be aware of asbestos safety and risk assessment processes.
  • Be comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights.
  • Have experience with boiler flue arrangements and related building materials.
  • Be able to cover callouts on a rota basis.
  • Live within the Bedfordshire area.

Essential Qualifications/Skills:

  • Current ACS qualifications (CCN1, CENWAT, CPA1, CKR1, HTR1).
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
