Job Purpose
Install lightning protection and earthing systems on various structures across private, public, industrial, and commercial sectors, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.
Key Accountabilities:
Installation: Install lightning protection and earthing systems on tall structures like high-rise offices and flats, following pre-designed schemes and risk assessments.
Upgrades: Undertake upgrades to existing lightning protection systems as per provided instructions.
Safety: Utilize scaffolding, work platforms, and safety devices to work safely at heights.
Documentation: Complete all company paperwork accurately, including risk assessments, job sheets, and timesheets.
Client Communication: Provide on-site communications and advice to clients or project managers, representing the company professionally.
Job Context / Key Challenges:
Lightning Protection is a highly regulated niche service, requiring annual testing (BS EN 62305:2006).
Work is predominantly outdoors and at height, requiring access to rooftops and challenging locations.
Projects range from high-rise residential to industrial structures, necessitating travel and driving.
Experience:
Strong experience in lightning protection (installation, testing, or repair).
Previous experience in a field service environment with customer interaction.
Qualifications
NVQ 2 or NVQ 3 as a Lightning Conductor Engineer, CSCS card holder.
Desirable:
IPAF, SSSTS, and PASMA qualifications, full UK driving license.
