MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
COMPANY OVERVIEW
My client has over 30 years experience designing, manufacturing and supplying market leading conveyor systems to customers throughout the UK and worldwide. They have a focus on site safety, reliability and efficiency and a commitment to delivering conveyor solutions. They work with some of the worlds leading brands supporting a range of industries and applications throughout the UK and further a field. They are an expanding business growing from strength to strength across the globe.
PURPOSE OF A MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
This is a multi-purpose mobile (van and site based) role, involving travelling to customers sites anywhere in the UK (and occasionally but rarely outside of the UK) then delivering, installing, maintaining/servicing, de-installing, commissioning or rectifying conveyor systems, sold or hired by my client to the full satisfaction of the customer. Mechanical Maintenance Technicians are based from my clients site in Bristol, but are required to travel to customer sites to perform their job role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF A MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
- Following all client site and my client's health and safety procedures at all times and showing great care towards team members and customers
- Adhering to method statements and risk assessments whenever onsite
- Correctly using all PPE equipment and clothing provided
- Delivery of goods / arrival on site on time and when agreed
- Working closely with clients and their subcontractors ensuring their satisfaction at all times
- Problem solving on site and using own initiative to resolve queries with customers direct
- Providing accurate reports to line management using company procedures on completion of each assignment
- Carefully loading and unloading vehicles in order to best maintain condition of both the vehicle and the equipment being transported
- Carefully maintaining company vehicles and cleanliness at all times and adhering to the Company Vehicle Policy
- Obtaining sign-off from customer on completion of each assignment, indicating satisfaction and training customers in the best use and maintenance of the conveyors
- Any other duties which are considered reasonable, including occasional workshop duties if there is limited site work available.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Mechanical engineering or equivalent
- Full driving licence and able to reliably deliver all types of equipment to customers site throughout UK, with the associated paperwork.
- Capability to install/de-install all types of rental conveyors on UK sites in teams of 2 or more operatives
- Capability to operate alone, maintaining, servicing and commissioning all types of rental conveyors on varied sites throughout the UK
- Capability to install all types of customer owned conveyors in varied sites throughout the UK
- Capability to operate alone, maintaining, servicing and commissioning all types of rental and customer owned conveyors in varied sites throughout the UK and occasionally conducting pre-instillation assessments and pre-collection site visits
- Capability to conduct pre-instillation assessments and pre-collection site visits, offering sales support and securing new business leads or opportunities
SALARY/BENEFITS
- £38,800 (includes annual bonus and door to door travel)
- 40 hour contract
- £3200 annual bonus
- 10 hrs of OT per month £160 per month
