COMPANY OVERVIEW

An established construction business is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in Westbury, Wiltshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to join a professional team and play a key role in the successful delivery of projects.

JOB PURPOSE

To provide day to day commercial and contractual support to project teams, ensuring projects remain commercially controlled, contractual requirements are met and company objectives are achieved.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide commercial and contractual support across projects.
• Review contract conditions and assist with negotiations with clients and subcontractors.
• Prepare monthly applications, interim valuations and payment applications.
• Prepare and analyse tender costings.
• Manage and value project variations, including day works and contract additions.
• Assist with monthly project cost reports, financial reviews and forecasts.
• Liaise with clients, Site Managers, Architects, Contract Managers and Site Engineers.
• Attend site and management meetings.
• Carry out site visits to monitor progress and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Support Contract Managers with variations and final accounts.
• Prepare and assist with the negotiation of project final accounts.
• Advise on contractual and commercial matters.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors and internal teams.
• Support the development and training of junior team members.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, policies and Health & Safety requirements.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Degree accredited by RICS in Quantity Surveying.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Good working knowledge of MS Excel.
• Previous Quantity Surveying experience within the construction sector.
• Strong understanding of commercial and contractual processes.
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
• Strong planning and organisational abilities.
• Ability to analyse problems and develop effective solutions.
• Collaborative team player with the confidence to work with internal teams, clients and external contractors.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good customer service focus.

SALARY & BENEFITS

• £50,000-£55,000 per annum, depending on experience
