Side-project ideas to supercharge your creativity
A Digital Blog
Our Digital Marketing Executive Jasmin Stevens is known to shine her creative light across all its online content and digital projects for Project Start Recruitment. Digital Marketing represents the Project Start brand in such an artistic way, many concepts are generated weekly (specifically a Monday to be precise) for the Project Start Recruitment socials.
How does our Project Start Marketing Executive come up with weekly content ideas?
Well, good question, it’s important to keep your creative skills active. As a creative individual, you are likely to have more than one creative passion. Side projects, for example, passion projects are an excellent way to explore creative pursuits outside of your day job. Passion projects are also a great opportunity to strengthen existing skills, learn new ones and boost your skills.
At Project Start, Jasmin has written a list of certain passion projects that will help you feel supercharged and ready to create: –
1. Start a podcast
Doesn’t it seem like everyone has a podcast these days, podcasts listening stats have grown nearly 40% in the last 3 years. If you are wanting to connect with an audience, podcasts are a great option. You might possibly want to start a podcast related to your professional creative pursuits. Or you could even start a podcast relating to a creative hobby or passion outside of work. Either way, podcasting is an excellent inventive and fun project to explore.
2. Blogging
If you enjoy writing, blogging is an excellent side project. You could start your own blog, blogs in virtually every creative niche are always looking for guest bloggers or regular contributors. Check out our Project Start news here: https://projectstart.co.uk/blog/
3. Start a newsletter
It is common to think of newsletters as content marketing, but there are many topical and personal newsletters around that are written without a specific marketing goal in mind. Think about what makes you passionate and knowledgeable and consider writing a regular newsletter around that. If you are interested in a certain topic, chances are others are too.
At Project Start, we have created our own Quartley insight magazine for clients and candidates, with specific industry and company news provided to our subscribers.
Remember a regular email newsletter can also help you create a sense of community.
4. Create digital art
If you are looking for just a creative side-project, creating digital art might be the perfect option. There are many different types of digital art, from digital painting to photo manipulations. With digital art, you don’t necessarily need to feel like an ‘artist’ to make some amazing things. Digital art allows you to be creatively expressive.
5. Create a digital product
Digital products can be known as eBooks or even audio files to icon sets and typefaces. Plenty of designers and other creatives create free digital products as a way to give back to the design community, while others create digital products as an extra source of income.
6. Start a YouTube channel
You could possibly start a YouTube channel for your own personal brand or for the business you work for. One thing is for certain, video content is on the rise and keeps growing year after year. YouTube will allow you to reach a worldwide audience, so no matter what type of content you choose to create – people will always be interested in the content.
Project Start has created its own YouTube channel to increase exposure for the business. It’s a great way to project our insights and to promote the Project Start brand for a wider audience.
